The Cooperativa Agrícola do Távora C.R.L. it's located in Távora-Varosa denominated region (DOC), witch is inserted between Douro and Dão.
This region is gifted with a characteristic terroir, namely granite soils, high altitudes and seasoned Continental weather, making it specially designed for election vines plantation. Also it's weather and soil conditions make this region the most appropriate in Portugal for the apple production, where the most appreciated variety - "Bravo de Esmolfe" as a deeper impact to the consumer. For the white wines this region offers unique conditions to achieve a high standard in quality. They are naturally acid and fresh, intense bouquet and citrine character. Equally the red wines achieve that delicacy in fragrance and nobility in body, achieving a special character, growing in time. In the north producing regions, nearby Douro, the "Távora-Varosa" red wines obtain stronger personality, with a special structure and singularity that impress the most demanding consumer. |
